(Junior) Dogs 1-7 Years Of Age

What does the Junior blood screening test include?

All junior dogs 1-7 years of age fall into the wellness screening category. Junior screenings are recommended at least once a year. The wellness screening test includes: Urinalysis, minor chemistry panel, Complete Blood Count (CBC).

What Are We Testing Your Dog’s Blood For?

Urinalysis Testing:

The urinalysis test includes looking at urine concentration, along with kidney values, to help us access your canine’s kidney function. We are also looking for any signs of abnormal proteins in the urine or urinary tract infections.

Minor & Major Chemistry Panel Testing:

One or both of these test may be needed depending on your dog’s current wellness situation.

The Minor chemistry panel test provides information on blood sugar, protein levels, liver values, and kidney values.

The Major chemistry panel test includes the same values as the minor with the inclusion of testing phosphorus, calcium, electrolytes, and liver values.

CBC Testing:  

A Complete blood count test is the measure of platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells to help us identify issues such as, bone marrow disease, low platelet count, anemia, and infection.

(Senior) Dogs 8+ Years Of Age

What does the senior blood screening test include?

All senior dogs 8+ years of age fall into the Senior Screening category. Senior screenings are recommended at least twice a year or every 6 months. The senior screening test includes: Urinalysis, minor chemistry panel, Complete Blood Count (CBC).
